Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen leads a Team Finland mission to Canada on 9–11 October. The Minister is accompanied by a delegation representing Finnish bioeconomy and energy companies.
Minister Mykkänen will attend a business seminar in Toronto and the Biomass North Forum 2017 in Thunder Bay, and hold discussions with Canadian authorities on topical bilateral questions. In addition, the Minister will attend Finland 100 celebrations in Thunder Bay.
“There is demand for Finnish bio-economy and energy expertise in Canada. The companies accompanying me on this trade mission offer high-quality solutions, suitable for also cold conditions. Finnish companies benefit from the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) between the European Union and Canada, which has been provisionally applied starting in September,” Minister Mykkänen notes.
Besides Toronto and Thunder Bay, the delegation’s programme includes a visit to Montreal.
